PRP FOR FACE
What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?
This new procedure is all the rage, using your own platelets and plasma (taken from a small sample of your blood), to stimulate collagen and improve the skin’s texture and elasticity. This is great for thin crepey skin, especially around the eyes, neck, décolletage, full face and hands in order to produce a rejuvenating and tightening effect on your skin. With the Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) facelift, you will see your aging skin transform — skin that has become discolored or sags will become smooth and rosey.
Why might you choose the PRP Facelift?
For some patients, a surgical facelift isn’t the best option. With dermal fillers, we can return the youthful volume to your face and give you back your beautiful facial shape. And the scientific use of stem cells really gives the PRP Facelift its impact. Stem cells are the building blocks of the body, facilitating healing and stimulating the growth of new tissue. These stem cells can be used to encourage your body to create new, younger skin cells. A unipotent stem cell encourages the growth of the specific cells against which they’re placed — place them on the skin, and your body can grow new skin! As the process goes on, you’ll see your skin color improve as new blood vessels form, and collagen will form in the skin to give that plump look associated with youth.
The treatment itself takes about an hour and you will generally require one treatment every 2-4 weeks for 3-4 months. In other words, the course of treatments involves 3-4 appointments spaced 2-4 weeks apart and results can be maintained with a single repeat treatment every 6-12 months. It is a very safe treatment – primarily because we are using your own blood so there is no chance of an allergic reaction or serious side-effects.
PRP FOR HAIR LOSS
Advantages of PRP Therapy against hair loss are:
The procedure is non surgical
The procedure lasts for about 60 to 75 mins
Natural looking end results
With a small needle, your own Platelet-Rich Plasma is injected into your scalp. After which the growth factors in your blood cells allow for stimulation and hair growth.
PRP Hair Restoration is suitable for both men and women.
Our blood plasma (PRP) contains active growth factors which can promote hair growth. Helping to restore one’s confidence, the end result is a fuller, healthier looking head of hair.
The cost of PRP hair treatment can be considerable, as more sessions may be needed to obtain the desired result. PRP is also being used in conjunction with some hair transplant procedures.
Does it hurt?
In the past some patients experienced PRP Hair Loss Therapy as uncomfortable and sometimes painful when carried out under topical anesthetic. If you wish, the procedure can be carried out under intravenous sleep sedation or general anesthetic. You will be fully asleep and will not notice the injections.
What are the risks?
There is no risk of an allergic reaction with PRP therapy because the enriched plasma has been produced from the patient’s own blood. A concentrated amount of white blood cells make up part of the PRP which are the body’s natural defenders against infections. Infections are therefore extremely rare.
Do I need to repeat this treatment?
Depending upon the patient’s individual needs and treatment plan, PRP treatment can be repeated until the desired result has been achieved. Our experience shows that regular PRP treatment every 3 to 6 months can be very beneficial.
Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy: what is it and how does it work?
The doctor takes a little blood which is then treated in a centrifuge so that only the enriched cells or platelets (PRP) remain.
The PRP or highly concentrated Platelet Rich Plasma, including essential growth proteins, is injected into the scalp or areas to be treated using a special micro needle.
It is possible to use PRP Hair Loss Therapy alone to promote hair growth or it can also be used in combination with hair transplant or restoration surgery.
